We “Hoedown” to bring you our bi-annual Ice Show which showcases all our skaters at every age and level!
| Raffle Tickets: The ASC is responsible for selling Raffle tickets for the Hoedown event. Participation is MANDATORY for all members of the Aurora Skating Club. 100% of the profits from the Raffle ticket sales will come back to our club! As a not-for-profit club, fundraising is critical to our clubs' success and this will be this season's major fundraising effort. We are asking that every family sell a minimum of 2 books of Raffle tickets each. Tickets are sold 3 for $20.00, each book contains 15 tickets with a book value of $100.00, that is only 5 sales per book! Grand prize for the raffle is $75,000! As an added sales incentive, the top seller of raffle tickets, over and above the 2 book minimum, will receive a 2 night Fall membership, paid for by the club, (excluding the Skate Canada Fee of $32.50). In the event of a tie for top sales, a draw will determine the overall winner. An email will be sent out shortly with dates and times that the Skating Club office will be open for pick-up of your Raffle tickets. In order to track and regulate Raffle tickets and funds for the Hoedown, full payment at time of pick-up would be appreciated. All Raffle ticket stubs must be returned to the club by September 2, 2015. Please note: Selling 2 books of Hoedown Raffle tickets is a mandatory commitment, any unsold Raffle tickets will result in the money being incorporated into the individual's membership fees.
Donations: Our club has been asked to provide donations for the silent auctions that will take place on both evenings; Friday, Sept. 18, and Saturday, Sept. 19th. We require a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 entries valued at $500.00 or more and a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 entries valued at $100.00 -$250.00. We are reaching out to our membership for donations such as tickets to sporting or entertainment events, merchandise that could be auctioned off, etc. All silent auction proceeds will come back 100% to the club. If you know of any vendors or companies that can assist with providing auction donations please email the club ASAP as we are expected to announce our silent auction items by July 30th. All silent auction donators will be recognized on the Aurora Skating Club website.
Volunteers: We are required to supply 35 volunteers to fulfill various duties on the days leading up to the hoedown, the Friday night Showdown, the Saturday night Hoedown, and teardown following the hoedown. All volunteers must be over the age of 19. Please let us know, via email, as soon as possible your volunteer preferences. We will share the positions that are required as soon as we receive them from the Magna organizers.
Event Tickets: Tickets for both Hoedown nights will be available for purchase at the Aurora Skating club office, (dates and office times to follow). Friday night tickets are $45.00, Saturday night tickets, which includes a Texas style BBQ, are $75.00. Please purchase your tickets early as there are a limited number available and the event sells out almost every year!
