Katie Sutton, Quad Gold Skater

My love for skating began when I first stepped on the ice when I was just 3 years old. The journey from that day forward has been unforgettable. Hours of dedicated training has allowed me to complete the goals I set for my self. I have had amazing coaches that have helped me every step of the way and endless support from my parents. Over the years my coaches have taught me how to grow both as a skater and as a person. The aurora skating club is a family to me. I hope to continue skating as I head off to Dalhousie University next year. I can't Imagine my life without skating. The ice is my happy place.

Hailey Riggs,   Quad Gold Skater

Hailey's love of skating began at the age of 9 when she joined the Aurora Skating Club proving that it is never too late to start to achieve success in a sport. Last May, Hailey passed her Gold Freeskate test adding to her previously Gold Dance, Gold Skills and Gold Interpretive to complete her Quad Golds. Hailey's natural ability and athleticism coupled with her strong desire to success aided her in achieving her dream of attaining the 4 gold disciplines. Many thanks to Jo-Anne Scott and Renald Foisy for their years of expertise, encouragement and support and to Lindsay Smith her interpretive coach. "Skating will continue to be a passion of mine"

Tayler Sim, Quad Gold Skater

Tayler started skating at the age of 3 and became a member of the Aurora Skating club at age 6.  Recently, Tayler successfully completed her Gold Interpretive, adding that to her already successful completion of Gold Dance, Skills and Freeskate, making her a Quad Gold Test level skater.  Tayler’s success came from hard work, never giving up, the support of her family and from her long time, dedicated coaches Jo-Anne Scott, Renald Foisy and more recently Lindsay Smith.  Congratulations Tayler, for accomplishing all of this before heading off to study Recreation Management/Business at Acadia University, in Nova Scotia this fall.  We are pretty confident though, that Tayler’s love of skating and being a Certified Canskate Instructor, will get her back on the ice in no time.
