STARSkate Banquet
At the end of every season the Aurora Skating Club celebrates the achievements of active ASC STARSkate members in good standing with the club.
The following awards are presented in each STARSkate Level: Junior, Novice, Senior, Advanced and three CanSkate awards.
- Most Improved Skater of the Year (in all levels)
- Most Dedicated Skater of the Year (in all levels)
- Most Improved Synchro Skater of the Year
- Most Dedicated Synchro Skater of the Year
- Program Assistant of the Year: Given to the P.A. who has exceeded expectations and done an outstanding job all season long. This award is presented to an individual who is a great asset to our coaching team on the ice, and shows significant commitment to our club and young members.
- STARSkater of the Year: Given to a skater who demonstrates determination and commitment to his/her skating. A skater who shows enthusiasm, a positive attitude and is a good role model to his/her peers and younger STARSskaters. He/she strives to push the boundaries of his/her skating abilities and demonstrates dedication and personal development through Skate Canada Testing and attending competitions.
- Blair Koski-Klein Memorial Award: Awarded to the skater who best emulates Blair’s positivity, kindness, and love of skating
- STARSkate Junior Medal: Skaters who have reached STARSkate Junior level 6 within the current season receive a medal of achievement
- CanSkate Spirit Award: This award is given to the CanSkater who demonstrates good sportsmanship by being cooperative with their peers, positive attitude and participates fully in all activities.
- CanSkater of the Year: This award is given to the CanSkater who demonstrates a strong dedication and love of the sport. Exudes an eagerness to learn, consistent positive attitude and participates fully in all activities.
